The Flower Garden Cardigan

This is one of my favorite ways to refashion an existing cardigan. I own a couple of different versions of this style of cardigan and wear them a lot.

The neutral, subtle version:

Both cardigans were made by hand-stitching crocheted flowers to an existing cardigan. For lots of great crochet flower patterns, go here.

  1. Are you kidding me? I love both of these!!! I am trying this. It's too fabulous. You might want to look at the vintage sweater I wore the other day for inspiration. It's just big thick chunky yarn looped into flowers. Go here to see it. http://theyearoflivingfabulously.blogspot.com/2010/12/this-old-sweater.html

  4. oops sorry not sure what happened there.....Just wanted to say these are both very pretty! Also what kind of thread are you using for these? Is it regular cotton or embroidery thread?? I would like to start giving these a go and want to make sure they turn out as lovely as yours.

  5. Claudia - I used cotton crochet thread which is thinner/finer than regular yarn

  6. They're both lovely, but the bright one is right up my alley! I adore those brilliant color - especially this time of year when I'm tired of red and green already. Thanks for brightening my day!
