30 Days For 30 Dollars -Day 13 - Linen Napkins

Wondering what 30 Days for 30 Dollars is?? Read all about it here.

Thrift stores can be a great source of fabric - and you don't have to restrict yourself to the traditional fabric section. You can often find great fabric, and usually lots of yardage, by checking the sheets, curtains, and tablecloths. That's where I found this $1 linen (or linen-esque, who knows) tablecloth:

It was huge, and a great color. And while I didn't really need it for my table, it made great napkins -

Just in time for holiday dinners.

The tutorial:

Cut a 12 inch square from your fabric.

Sew a wide, 1 inch seam around the edge of the square.

Start pulling threads from the edge to create fraying.

You can use a needle to help pull the threads loose. The first few threads are a little tricky to get going but then it gets easier.

Total cost today - $1.00 for a whole lotta napkins.

Total spent:
Day 1: $1.00 Recipe Card Box
