30 Days For 30 Dollars - Day 19 - Vintage Tool Tray Centerpiece

Wondering what 30 Days for 30 Dollars is?? Read all about it here.

Next time your at your favorite thrift store, don't forget to check out the hardware and tool section. You can find some really cool stuff. Like this old tool tray:

It makes a great winter centerpiece:

The tool tray I found was really grungy so I gave it a good cleaning and then a light coat of silver spray paint. The spray paint didn't totally cover all of the wear but that was ok with me - I wanted it to look somewhat worn.
Then I filled it with pine branches and pine cones from my front yard.
Pretty and it smells so good!

Here are a few more cool ideas for vintage tool trays:

fill with flowers (via Laughing with Angles)

make a coffee or tea station (from Classic Casual Home)
