Today, we start with a couple of plain, boring pillowcases - thrift store 50 cents a piece:
They were in great shape - no stains, tears, or holes. Just incredibly boring.
But now they're not:


All that's required here is to sew on a little bit of lace and trim. I had mine in my stash so no $ spent there.
And don't forget to give your pillowcases a good wash with hot water and plenty of detergent before you get started.
Bonus Project - Crochet Trimmed Pillowcases
If you know how to crochet, you can also add a little crochet trim to the edge, like I did with these:
I also sewed on a strip of blue bias tape to match the crochet trim.
You may notice that I did 2 different trim patterns, but used the same color crochet thread on both so they would coordinate.

With a needle and crochet thread, blanket stitch around the edge of the pillowcase.
