The Eagles Have Landed

Every few years our little town is lucky enough to be invaded by flocks of eagles. And this is one of those years. It seems they like to roost in our big, old trees like the one above (you can see one of the eagles in the left side of the tree). I think they are amazing!!

  1. That's amazing....we don't see things like that in the UK! That's also why I love the blogosphere so much get to see such interesting photos.
Puts the few magpies and the occasional hawks flying over the fields at the back of my house to shame. How long do they stay? ..and do you have to stay quite a distance from them?

    1. They stay for a couple of weeks and they seem to pretty much ignore people. I stood at the base of a tree that one was in and it didn't even seem to know that I was there.

  2. Very Cool! When I was a kid, we'd see eagles that came down the Mississippi river. They are such majestic birds.

  3. WE have a pair of eagles that have built a huge nest on a small piece of dry land in a nearby lake. They have come the past 3 years. It is so awe inspiring to see them soaring in the air with the sun making their heads brilliantly white. So far no baby eagles, but they are a young pair, so maybe next year.

  4. Love your "butterflies" of the day.

  5. What amazing shots - they are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing - we certainly don't get anything quite that spectacular here in southern England!

  6. We have several eagles that nest on Jetty Island at our local waterfront. Our waterfront is only about 1 mile from our house, so several times a year we will see an eagle flying over our house. It is very cool. No matter how many times you see them, they are still awe inspiring.

  7. Bird are our real natural beauty. You allot such nice pix of eagles. As well as Its best timing photo of bird. I like your post.
