Anthropologie Inspired: Crochet Spliced Loop

My knock-off version of Anthropologie's Crochet Spliced Loop ($58)
My version cost me 50 cents for the turquoise fabric which was a thrift store scarf.  All other materials were scraps that I had on hand.

To create this scarf you basically need 2 sections of fabric (in mine, the pink section and the turquoise section), made by sewing right sides together, turning, and finishing the opening.  My fabric sections were each approximately 9" wide by 20" long (finished).  Then connect the fabric by adding a blanket stitch and crochet sections.  I used this mesh crochet pattern.

I know these are pretty vague instructions so just leave a comment if you have any questions.

  1. love this! i don't know how to crochet, but i bet this would be super easy to do with a pre-existing knit/crocheted scarf cut up and sewn on. thanks for sharing! :) lisa

  2. I would like to try this, b ut I am a bit confused on the fabric part. Are the pink and blue sewn end to end and then turned, or front to front? In other words, is the total going to be about 60 in or about 40???? Thanks....!

    1. Ok, I'll try to explain a little more clearly. I cut 2 pieces of the pink and 2 pieces of the blue, all approx. 9 inches by 20 inches. Then I sewed the 2 pinks, right sides together, and the 2 blues, right sides together, leaving an opening for turning. Turn right side out, and sew the opening closed. You should now have a finished pink section and a finished blue section. Then you connect them using the crochet and blanket stitch.
